When God created humans, he created them in His own image and set out a standard of righteousness that was to last forever. This series, entitled Living in Love, is meant to reacquaint us with God’s image in order to restore the rightful place of His law and love in the lives of His people.

Lecture 1 – Living the Good Life – 47 Minutes
What did Jesus mean when he said, “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God?” Listen to this sermon to find out how in this passage, Jesus gave us the clue to living the good life.
Do you know what the good life is? Do you want it? In this sermon, Pastor Randy Skeete explains that Christ told us how we can have the good life when he spoke these words in Matthew 4:4: “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Listen to this lecture to learn the connection between keeping God’s word and His commandments, which are life-giving. Keeping God’s commandments means knowing and obeying every word that proceedeth from His mouth. This Word provides the key to enjoying the good life that Christ offers us, for a good life is a live lived in conformity to God’s law.
Lecture 2 – In His Image – 49 Minutes
What does it mean to be made in the image of God?
When God made humanity “in His image,” He made us in the image of God — not to become God, but to become godly. This is the standard for Christians to aspire to — godliness, for which we have the perfect example in Christ. In this lecture, Pastor Randy Skeete reveals the purpose of the law, how it relates to God’s character, and the importance of the law today. He challenges Christians to live according to the same high standard that God set for humanity in the beginning.
Lecture 3 – Above and Beyond – 50 Minutes
Are you following God’s law in your attitude as well as in your actions? Learn how the Ten Commandments exercise authority first and foremost on the level of thought, and then our behavior.
In Matthew 5:20, Christ says, “That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” What is righteousness? How is a Christian’s righteousness to exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees? Pastor Randy Skeete addresses these questions in this sermon, arguing that the righteousness that God calls His followers to goes above and beyond our actions and into our thoughts and attitudes.
Lecture 4 – Living Lawfully – 51 Minutes
Human beings are physical and moral creatures, which means we are under physical and moral laws. Learn what these laws are and their implications for our lives in this fascinating lecture!
In this lecture, Pastor Randy Skeete reveals the common theme that binds all of creation together, animate and inanimate, animal and human: God’s law. All matter in the universe is under physical law. Since humans, however, are not just physical creatures but moral creatures, made in God’s image, we are also governed by moral laws, which God gave us in the Ten Commandments. Skeete explains how God’s law governs everything in the universe, and how our obedience to His law results in harmony not only with the natural universe, but with God Himself. This lecture reminds us that loving God means obeying God, and obeying God means following His law.
Lecture 5 – The Best of Everything – 50 Minutes
Do you count the law of God as the chief privilege of following Christ?
God chose the Israelites as His blessed people and gave them eight privileges that set them apart from the rest of the world. Of these privileges, one stood highest of all. The Bible identifies the chief privilege in Romans 3:2 — the law of God, which is the very expression of His will. Join Pastor Randy Skeete in this sermon as he explains that God’s will for us is to live in accordance with His law, and this should be our delight to do.
Lecture 6 – A Gift from God – 47 Minutes
“Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” What does your heart say, and does this match God’s heart that He revealed to us through His law?
God offered to mankind an amazing gift when He spoke the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai — the law. Matthew 12:34 tells us that “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” When God spoke the law, He thus spoke His heart, and He writes this law on the heart of every believer. To live in God’s image, you must have His heart. It is the heart –the motive–that makes an act acceptable to God. Examine your own heart in this challenging and inspiring sermon from Pastor Randy Skeete.
